Myself and William recently treated ourselves to a well overdue night away in Dublin city for Valentines.
Where we stayed:
We stayed in The Dean which is in the heart of Dublin city. It’s a super cool hotel and the modern boutique rooms are just one of the wow factors, with loads of items in the room that will make you smile. We stayed in the SupeRoom which includes a blast rainforest shower, Grafton Barber products, free WIFI, Marshall amps to connect your gadgets to, Samsung tv with Netflix, vinyls for the rega turntables, Nespresso machine, a fully stocked mini SMEG fridge and a whole heap of snacks to keep the munchies at bay.
What we did:
Grafton Street: We done a spot of shopping on Grafton Street which is one of the two main shopping streets in Dublin.
Trinity College: We walked around the grounds of Trinity College where many tourists flock to as its one of Dublin’s most popular tourist attractions.
Where we ate:
Sophies: Hidden on top of the Dean hotel is a truly unique glasshouse restaurant called Sophies. A pair of swings greet you when the lift doors open and once inside Sophies Restaurant you get a 360 view of Dublin where the weather is your wallpaper, its super cool and the vibe is like no other. We enjoyed drinks and pizzas here and I have to say we thoroughly enjoyed our food.
The Rolling Donut: Delicious hand-crafted sourdough donuts/vegan donuts with a wide variety to choose from.
Butlers Chocolate Café: We enjoyed only the best of hot chocolate and tea here with some chocolates of course. Always top class.
Where we partied:
Sophies: Some pre-drinks before leaving the hotel. Wide range of cocktails and gins to choose from and an atmosphere like no other. An absolute must if in Dublin!
Whelan’s: A traditional country pub in the heart of the city, great atmosphere.
Flannery’s: Great craic, playing all the old party classics.
Coppers: Or should I say Copper Face Jacks it’s basically Ireland’s number one nightclub, the tunes were savage and packed as always.
Overall, a great night away I will say if your looking for a great location central to Dublin then the Dean is ideal, although if you’re looking for a good night’s sleep then the Dean is not ideal as your sandwiched between two nightclubs and they even supply earplugs for every guest.
